How to Build a Daily Quran Reading Habit

Practical steps for building a daily Quran reading habit, choosing a comfortable script and theme, and bookmarking the passage you want to revisit.

PAUSE + READ

A reading routine can begin with a small, repeatable moment. Before deciding how much to read, think about where Quran reading can fit comfortably into your day.

Choose a moment you can return to

Look for a natural pause in your day: a quiet morning, a break at home or some time before bed. Start with an amount of reading that feels manageable. A short session you can return to is a useful starting point.

You can change the routine as you go. Some days leave room for a longer reading session; others may only offer a few minutes. The aim is to make beginning feel approachable.

Set up the page for comfortable reading

Open Quran Mushaf and choose the script you are familiar with: Indo-Pak or Uthmani. Try the reading modes and select a theme that suits your surroundings. Check the text at your usual reading distance before settling in.

Immersive mode can help when you want fewer controls on the screen. Night mode and the other themes give you different display choices. Choose what helps you read comfortably, and adjust it when your environment changes.

Leave yourself a clear place to return

Use a bookmark for a passage you want to revisit. Before closing the app, take a moment to note what you would like to read or explore next.

When a word or passage raises a question, you can explore the available translations and Tafseer. Give that question its own time instead of feeling that every reading session must do everything at once.

Put it into practice
