How Quran Mushaf handles information.

No account, ads or purchases

Quran Mushaf does not require an account and does not include advertising, subscriptions or in-app purchases. The app does not ask you to provide a name, email address or profile.

Information stored on your device

Your last reading position, bookmarks, selected Mushaf, translation and Tafseer choices, app language, theme, reading and view modes, onboarding status and other preferences are stored on your device so the app can remember your choices. Quran Mushaf does not send your bookmarked Ayahs, last reading position, search words or the text you read to therehanfoundation.

Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app removes this local information.

App analytics

Quran Mushaf uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand app usage and improve features. It records app lifecycle information, screen views, sessions and product interactions such as opening a Surah or Juz, starting recitation, using word meanings, changing a theme, language, translation, reciter or reading mode, and adding or removing a bookmark. Event details may include a Surah or Juz number, selected feature or setting, result count, and app version.

Analytics events do not include the words you search, the Ayah text you read, your bookmark contents or your last reading position. Google Analytics for Firebase automatically assigns an app-instance identifier and may derive an approximate location from a masked IP address. The app disables Android Advertising ID and Android device ID collection for Analytics and does not use analytics for advertising or personalized ads.

Crash and reliability reports

Quran Mushaf uses Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes and reliability problems. Reports may include stack traces, relevant app state, app version, device model and operating system, timestamps, a Crashlytics installation identifier, Firebase installation identifier, session information, and actions recorded shortly before a crash.

We use this information for analytics, crash diagnosis and app reliability improvement. Firebase data is processed by Google as our service provider and is encrypted in transit. Learn more in Firebase's Android data disclosure guidance and Google's Privacy Policy.

Offline and network features

The complete Mushaf is included for offline reading. An internet connection is used when you request translations, Tafseer, Quran search or recitation audio. The app retrieves public Quran resources from services including Quran.com and Quran CDN for Quran text, translations, Tafseer and search; EveryAyah for recitation audio; and QuranWBW for word-by-word audio.

These requests do not include your name, email, bookmark contents or local reading position. A content service and network provider may receive standard technical connection information needed to deliver a requested resource, such as an IP address, app or browser details and the requested resource, under their own privacy practices. Quran text is based on the King Fahd Complex Madani Mushaf, and content sources are attributed inside the app.

App permissions

On Android, Quran Mushaf uses audio settings and foreground media-playback permissions so recitation can continue in the background and show playback controls in a notification or on the lock screen. It may request notification permission for those controls. The app does not request microphone or audio-recording permission, does not record audio and does not capture audio input.

Google Play

Google Play may process information when you download, install, update or review the app. That processing is controlled by Google and is described in Google's privacy policy. therehanfoundation receives Play Console information such as installs, store listing visits, ratings and technical stability reports when available.

Support and feedback

Support links open your email application. You choose whether to send a message and what information to include. If you email us, we receive your email address and the message, device details or screenshots you choose to provide. We use that information to answer your request and investigate the reported issue.

Do not include sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for resolving your support request.

Service providers, sale and retention

therehanfoundation does not sell personal information and does not use app activity for advertising. Google processes information as our service provider for Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Google Play. Content and network providers process standard request data when you ask the app to retrieve online Quran resources.

Google controls retention for Firebase and Google Analytics data according to the settings and terms of those services. Crashlytics generally begins removing crash reports and associated identifiers after 90 days. Support emails are retained only as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain support records and protect the service.

Your choices and deletion requests

You can remove locally stored app preferences, bookmarks and reading position by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app. Because Quran Mushaf does not create user accounts, we usually cannot connect Firebase data to your name or email address.

You may ask a privacy question or request deletion of information you sent directly to us by emailing mominabuzaid8@gmail.com. Include enough detail for us to identify the support message or other information you want us to review.

Children

Quran Mushaf is a general-audience reading application. It does not provide account creation, social posting or targeted advertising. If you believe a child has sent personal information through support email, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

Security and policy changes

We use reasonable measures to protect information under our control. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. If this policy changes, the revised text and effective date will be published on this page.
